Eva Costa is a Berlin-based director and performer. She studied as an actor and voice actor. She made his debut at the Venice Biennale (Artistic Director Romeo Castellucci) with the production "We're talking about music" by Alimpiev / Zunin. The same year she graduated with honors in Philosophy, PISA University. Until 2014 she worked in various co-productions between Germany, Spain and Poland and, among others, SIGNA's "Club Inferno" at the Volksbühne in Berlin. She won, with the project "Bra(DA)mante-performance per due corpi", the Competition Festival Varie(a)zioni in Rome. 2015 her co-production "Dunkle Wasser / la nave dei folli" made its international debut between Italy and Germany. Since 2017, thanks to the financial support of the Berlin Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa and Fonds Darstellende Künste, she has been able to focus in particular on the topic of tactility in relation to theatre experiences. Her work "Wunderkammer - a collection of imaginary landscapes" was produced and presented in 2018 at Uferstudios Berlin by the Ausufern Program Series. 2019 she started the participatory format "Pop-up teatro" in different Italian cities and communities. Project "99", a week of events in the form of shared community research, debuted in Berlin in November 2021. Since 2020 she has been working on "Die Schneekönigin-ein performatives Buch" that made its international debut in November 2022. The audio part was broadcast by Radio Rai 3 in four episodes between January and February 2023 and the book was nominated for the Gmund Award and Innovation Green Award 2023 and presented to the public for the first time at the UNFOLDED Festival in Gmund on 23 May. As far as her practice is concerned, the interest in spatiality and its perception are recurring elements in the work, as well as the question about form and possibilities of a performance. She uses different types of collaborations from art, science and everyday life to absorb, be contaminated and bring nourishment to the work. At the same time, she trains students and audience in Italy and Berlin and still works as a voice actor in numerous international projects.
